Baker With 4 Hits As Hooks Beat Mudcats

Gabe Baker collected four hits in four at bats, as Hooks defeated Mudcats 9-1 on Friday at Texas Star Baseball Arlington Field. Gabe Baker tripled in the fourth inning, singled in the seventh inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Hooks got on the board in the top of the second inning after Gabe Baker singled down the left field line, and Mudcats committed an error, each scoring one run.

Hooks added one run in the third. Michael Landeck grounded into a double play, making the score 3-0.

Dylan Kuester earned the win for Hooks. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. Nolan took the loss for Mudcats. The hurler went five innings, surrendering four runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out eight and walking seven. Brayden Berry threw one inning of scoreless ball for Hooks in relief. The pitcher allowed one hit, striking out one and walking none.

Hooks collected nine hits in the game. Daniel Zamora collected two hits for Hooks in two at bats. Hooks had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 11 walks for the game. John Otterson and Daniel Zamora led the team with two bases on balls each.

Chris Tarango, Rybin Viacheslav, Robert Beck, Irvin Santamaria, Tony C, and Manny Garcia each collected one hit for Mudcats. Joseph A led Mudcats with one run batted in. Mudcats turned one double play in the game.

Hooks play at home on Sunday against Warriors in their next game.
