Lewis Powers Hooks Past Tigers

Griffin Lewis hit two home runs and drove in four as Hooks defeated Tigers 12-0 on Sunday at Oran Good Park. Griffin Lewis homered in the second and first innings.

A solo home run to left field by Griffin Lewis put Hooks on the board in the top of the first.

Four more Hooks runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 5-0. Cody Andersen singled, scoring one run, and Griffin Lewis homered to center field, scoring three runs.

Hooks added one run in the third. Brandon Collins walked, making the score 6-0.

Dylan Kuester earned the win for Hooks. The starter surrendered four hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking none. Nate took the loss for Tigers. The hurler went one and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on six hits, striking out none and walking none. Ryan Vera threw one inning of zero-run ball for Hooks in relief. The pitcher gave up two hits, striking out one and walking none.

Hooks accumulated 10 hits in the game. Luis Sotomayor and Ryan Vera each collected multiple hits for Hooks. Hooks had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Steven Mock and Ryan Vera led the team with two free passes each. Ryan Vera stole two bases. Hooks stole four bases in the game.

Connor and Caleb each collected two hits for Tigers.
