Nelson Drives In 4 To Lead Hooks Past Reds

Nic Nelson drove in four runs on three hits to lead Hooks past Reds 8-3 on Wednesday at McInnish Sports Complex. In the fourth inning, Nic Nelson hit a grand slam to left field.

Hooks were the first to get on the board in the first when an error scored one run.

Hooks added one run in the third after Reds committed an error.

Hooks added five more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on three hits. Nick Zamora drew a walk, scoring one run, and Nic Nelson hit a grand slam to left field.

Daniel Zamora earned the win for Hooks. The starter surrendered six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. David Diaz took the loss for Reds. The hurler went five innings, surrendering eight runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out seven and walking five.

Nic Nelson and Andrew Brocious each collected three hits for Hooks. Daniel Zamora stole two bases.

Pablo provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Reds with two runs batted in. Pablo went 1-for-2 on the day. Brendon Taylor led Reds with two hits in three at bats.
