Big Fourth Inning Leads Bulldogs Past Hooks

Bulldogs scored six runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Hooks 10-0 on Sunday at Cravens Park.

Bulldogs got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Garrett Shannon walked, and Michael Brookshire was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.

Bulldogs added one run in the second. Gage Crites grounded out, making the score 3-0.

Bulldogs scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Gage Crites doubled, scoring two runs, Cody Crawford doubled, scoring three runs, and a passed ball scored one run.

Garrett Shannon earned the win for Bulldogs. The starter surrendered three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking two. Ethan Lopez took the loss for Hooks. The starting pitcher went two innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on one hit, striking out two and walking two.

Dustin Thompson, John Otterson, and Nick Hekkert each collected one hit for Hooks.

Cody Crawford, Gage Crites, Ryan Terrell, and Garrett Shannon each collected one hit for Bulldogs. Cody Crawford and Gage Crites each drove in two runs for Bulldogs. Josh Hinz led Bulldogs with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Bulldogs turned one double play in the game. Bulldogs were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Garrett Shannon had the most chances in the field with two.
