Hooks jumped out to the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Nic Nelson homered to left field, scoring two runs, Gabe Torres tripled, scoring one run, and Steven Mock singled, scoring one run.
Daniel Zamora earned the win for Hooks. The hurler surrendered two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking two. A Arey took the loss for Cubs. The starting pitcher went four innings, giving up four runs on 10 hits, striking out five and walking two. Jack Finnegan collected the save.
