Hooks Surge Past Reds Thanks To Big Fourth Inning

Hooks defeated Reds 16-3 on Sunday at Oran Good Park thanks in part to 12 runs in the fourth inning.  Griffin Lewis singled, scoring two runs, Steven Mock doubled, scoring two runs, a dropped third strike scored two runs, Jonathan Bermudez homered to left field, scoring two runs, John Otterson doubled, scoring two runs, Griffin Lewis doubled, scoring one run, and Matt Bailey singled, scoring one run.

Reds were the first to get on the board in the first when David doubled, scoring two runs.

A double by Steven Mock gave Hooks the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the third.

Dylan Kuester earned the win for Hooks. The starter gave up three hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking two. Blake took the loss for Reds. The starter went three and one-third innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits, striking out one and walking three. Teryn Byrne appeared in relief for Hooks.

Hooks amassed 15 hits in the game. Steven Mock provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Hooks with five runs batted in. The infielder went 3-for-3 on the day. John Otterson led Hooks with four hits in four at bats. Luis Sotomayor, Griffin Lewis, and Jonathan Bermudez each collected multiple hits for Hooks. Hooks turned one double play in the game.

David drove the middle of the lineup, leading Reds with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-2 on the day. David, Tom, and Michael each collected one hit for Reds. Reds were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Blake had the most chances in the field with one.
