Zamora’s Big Day Propels Hooks Past Hound Dogs

Nick Zamora collected three hits in four at bats, as Hooks defeated Hound Dogs 8-1 on Sunday. Nick Zamora doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

Hooks got on the board in the first inning after Carson Barker grounded out, scoring one run.

Z King singled down the right field line, which helped Hound Dogs tie the game at one in the top of the second.

Hooks jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Daniel Zamora singled to center field, and Jonathan Bermudez doubled down the left field line, each scoring two runs.

Ryan Vera earned the win for Hooks. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking one. R Bainter took the loss for Hound Dogs. The pitcher went two innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking two. Dylan Kuester collected the save.

Hooks accumulated 10 hits in the game. Carson Barker, Jonathan Bermudez, and Daniel Zamora each drove in two runs for Hooks. Nick Zamora and John Otterson each stole multiple bases for Hooks. Hooks ran wild on the base paths, collecting seven stolen bases for the game.

Z King went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. R Bainter and Z King each collected one hit for Hound Dogs. Hound Dogs turned one double play in the game.
