Zamora’s Big Day Propels Hooks Past Bulldogs

Daniel Zamora drove in four runs on three hits to lead Hooks past Bulldogs 12-9 on Sunday at Lively Park. Daniel Zamora doubled in the first scoring two, hit a solo home run to left field in the second scoring one, and hit a sacrifice fly in the third scoring one.

Bats blistered as Hooks collected 20 hits and Bulldogs tallied 14 in the high-scoring game.

Hooks got on the board in the top of the first inning after Dom Coro singled, scoring one run, Daniel Zamora doubled, scoring two runs, Rodney McDaniel singled, scoring one run, Ethan Lopez doubled, scoring two runs, Dylan Kuester doubled, scoring one run, and John Otterson singled, scoring one run.

Hooks scored one run in the top of the second on a solo home run to left field by Daniel Zamora.

Hooks added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Nic Nelson singled, Daniel Zamora hit a sacrifice fly, and Rodney McDaniel singled, each scoring one run.

Bulldogs scored six runs on seven hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Blake Dickerson doubled, scoring two runs, Ben Russell singled, scoring one run, J Hinz singled, scoring one run, Ryan Terrell singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.

Ethan Lopez earned the win for Hooks. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and three runs over three innings, striking out five and walking none. David Poe took the loss for Bulldogs. The starting pitcher went three innings, allowing 12 runs on 14 hits, striking out two and walking two. Brandon Collins collected the save.

Hooks amassed 20 hits in the game. Rodney McDaniel and Luis Sotomayor each collected four hits for Hooks. Ethan Lopez, John Otterson, and Nic Nelson each collected multiple hits for Hooks. Hooks turned one double play in the game.

Bulldogs tallied 14 hits in the game. Ben Russell and J Hinz each collected three hits for Bulldogs. Blake Dickerson and Ryan Terrell each drove in two runs for Bulldogs. Michael Wertz and Gage Crites each collected multiple hits for Bulldogs.
