Hooks Claims Win In Thrilling Showdown Against Phillies

Hooks snatched the lead late in their 3-2 victory over Phillies on Sunday. Hooks were down 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Dom Coro doubled, scoring two runs.

Both teams were strong on the hill. Hooks pitchers struck out five, while Phillies sat down one.

Phillies got on the board in the fourth inning after one run scored on another play.

Hooks made the score 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth after Daniel Zamora singled, scoring one run, and Dom Coro doubled, scoring two runs.

Daniel Zamora earned the win for Hooks. The right-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking none. Deshawn took the loss for Phillies. The reliever went four innings, allowing three runs (zero earned) on four hits, striking out none and walking two. Dylan Kuester started the game for Hooks. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (zero earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one. Bolton began the game for Phillies. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking none.

Dom Coro provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Hooks with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Hooks's Rodney McDaniel, the number eight hitter, led Hooks with two hits in three at bats.

Chandler led Phillies with one run batted in. Chandler went 1-for-3 on the day. Tyler B led Phillies with two hits in two at bats.

Hooks will travel to Bulldogs for their next game on Thursday.
