Nelson Drives In 4 To Lead Hooks Past Bulldogs

Nic Nelson drove in four runs on one hit to lead Hooks past Bulldogs 4-3 on Sunday. In the sixth inning, Nic Nelson hit a grand slam to left field.

Bulldogs opened the scoring in the top of the fifth thanks to two home runs. Bulldogs first got on the board when Billy McDaniel hit a solo inside the park home run.

Dustin Thompson earned the win for Hooks. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking two. Ben Russell took the loss for Bulldogs. They went six innings, allowing four runs on three hits, striking out five and walking four. Daniel Zamora collected the save.

Rodney McDaniel, Nic Nelson, and Daniel Zamora each collected one hit for Hooks. Hooks were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Dustin Thompson made the most plays with two.

Tony Cleveland Jr, Blake Dickerson, Justin Chirinos, Billy McDaniel, and D Wiggins each collected one hit for Bulldogs. Tony Cleveland Jr, Blake Dickerson, and Billy McDaniel each drove in one run for Bulldogs.
