Bermudez Leads Hooks Past Elite

Jonathan Bermudez was dominant on the mound, as the starting pitcher rang up 12 strikeouts in Hooks's 11-1 victory over Elite on Sunday. Jonathan Bermudez gave up five hits and one run over six innings while walking five.

Elite opened the scoring in the first after Bush drew a walk, scoring one run.

Hooks jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the first inning after John Otterson doubled, Daniel Zamora doubled, and Nic Nelson singled, each scoring one run.

Hooks added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Dom Coro doubled, scoring two runs, and Dom Coro scored after tagging up.

Hooks amassed 14 hits in the game. Rodney McDaniel led Hooks with three hits in three at bats. Dom Coro and Steven Mock were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Hooks. Nic Nelson collected two hits for Hooks in two at bats. Hooks were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Coleman Gamble made the most plays with 12.

Bryan, Zane, Chris, Bush, and Jordan each collected one hit for Elite. Bush went 1-for-2 at the plate as they led the team with one run batted in. Elite turned one double play in the game.
