Hooks Fall To Devil Rays

Hooks lost to Devil Rays 7-6 on Sunday.

Devil Rays opened the scoring in the first after #briggs doubled, scoring two runs.

Devil Rays added one run in the third. #roberts walked, making the score 3-0.

Hooks captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third when John Otterson drew a walk, scoring one run, and Daniel Zamora doubled, scoring three runs.

Devil Rays jumped into the lead in the top of the sixth when an error scored one run, a wild pitch scored two runs, and #dorsey singled, scoring one run.

Jonathan Bermudez began the game for Hooks. The starting pitcher allowed eight hits and seven runs (five earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking two.

Steven Mock went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Hooks in hits. Daniel Zamora drove the middle of the lineup, leading Hooks with three runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Hooks had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Vincent Brigandi and Matt Bailey led the team with two bases on balls each. Hooks turned one double play in the game.

Leadoff hitter #whitson led Devil Rays with three hits in four at bats. #briggs and #dorsey each drove in one run for Devil Rays. #roberts collected two hits for Devil Rays in two at bats. Devil Rays turned one double play in the game.
