Hooks Defeat Phillies Behind Strong Performance From Bermudez

Jonathan Bermudez was dominant on the mound, as they rang up 10 strikeouts in Hooks's 8-2 victory over Phillies on Wednesday. Jonathan Bermudez surrendered four hits and two runs over five innings while walking two.

Hooks scored six runs in the sixth inning on the way to victory. Rodney McDaniel singled, scoring one run, Vincent Brigandi singled, scoring one run, Nick Zamora singled, scoring two runs, and Nic Nelson singled, scoring two runs.

Phillies were the first to get on the board in the second when Ben N grounded out, scoring one run.

Hooks took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Nic Nelson walked, and Luis Sotomayor singled, each scoring one run.

Steve S singled, which helped Phillies tie the game at two in the top of the fourth.

Dylan Kuester earned the win for Hooks. The reliever surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking three.

Hooks's Rodney McDaniel made the most of their chances at the plate. The number seven hitter led the team with two hits in three at bats. Nic Nelson and Nick Zamora each drove in two runs for Hooks. Josh Hopkins led Hooks with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Hooks turned one double play in the game. Hooks didn't commit a single error in the field. Coleman Gamble had the most chances in the field with 13.

Wyatt W led Phillies with two hits in three at bats. Ben N and Steve S each drove in one run for Phillies. Phillies turned one double play in the game.
