Hooks Nab Win Over D-Backs Despite Late 5-Run Inning - 10.9.22

Despite allowing five runs in the sixth inning, Hooks defeated D-Backs 11-5 on Sunday. D-Backs' big inning was driven by singles by Kadon Simmons and Jarrett Jones and a walk by Puyeor.

Hooks got things started in the second inning. Hooks scored one run when Daniel Zamora doubled.

Hooks scored five runs in the third inning. Hooks' big inning was driven by singles by Coleman Gamble, Nick Zamora, Jackson Morris, and Dominick Coro.

Tim Abercrombie earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Hooks. The lefthander surrendered five runs on six hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out 12. Zamora threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Garrett Shannon led things off on the mound for D-Backs. The southpaw lasted three innings, allowing ten hits and nine runs while striking out six. Simmons threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Hooks tallied 12 hits. Morris, Zamora, Coro, and Zamora all managed multiple hits for Hooks. Zamora, Coro, Zamora, and Morris each managed two hits to lead Hooks.

D-Backs collected seven hits. Mitchell and Jones all managed multiple hits for D-Backs. Mitchell led D-Backs with three hits in four at bats.
