Zamora Drives In 5 To Lead Hooks Past Bandits

Daniel Zamora drove in five runs on three hits to lead Hooks past Bandits 19-3 on Saturday at Lively Park. Daniel Zamora tripled in the third inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the sixth inning, scoring two.

Hooks got on the board in the top of the first inning after Daniel Zamora hit into a fielder's choice, Nic Nelson doubled, and Luis Sotomayor tripled, each scoring one run.

A double by John Otterson, a ground out by Nic Nelson, and a double by Luis Sotomayor helped Hooks extend their early lead in the second.

A triple by Daniel Zamora, a double by Luis Sotomayor, and a single by Rodney McDaniel helped Hooks extend their early lead in the third.

Hooks scored five runs on five hits in the top of the sixth inning. Nick Zamora doubled, scoring one run, Daniel Zamora doubled, scoring two runs, and Nic Nelson doubled, scoring two runs.

Dustin Thompson earned the win for Hooks. The right-handed pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking one. S Bryan took the loss for Bandits. The starting pitcher went four innings, allowing 12 runs (10 earned) on nine hits, striking out one and walking eight. Tanner Allred collected the save.

Hooks amassed 16 hits in the game. Luis Sotomayor, Nick Zamora, and Daniel Zamora each collected three hits for Hooks. John Otterson and Nic Nelson each collected multiple hits for Hooks. John Otterson led Hooks with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. Nick Zamora stole four bases. Hooks ran wild on the base paths, collecting six stolen bases for the game. Hooks turned one double play in the game.

N Bagley drove the middle of the lineup, leading Bandits with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. N Bagley stole two bases.
