Hooks Lose Despite Out Hitting Toros

Even though Hooks collected four hits to Toros's two, they still fell 4-3 on Wednesday. Nick Zamora led Hooks with two hits.

Hooks opened the scoring in the second after Ethan Lopez doubled, scoring one run.

A double by Adrian Pena gave Toros the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the third.

Gabriel Kubankin earned the win for Toros. The reliever allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking three. Jonathan Bermudez took the loss for Hooks. The starting pitcher went five innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on two hits, striking out two and walking seven. Jose Rodriguez started on the hill for Toros. They allowed three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out four and walking six.

Ethan Lopez, Nick Zamora, and Nic Nelson each drove in one run for Hooks. Nic Nelson paced Hooks with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Hooks turned one double play in the game.

Adrian Pena drove the middle of the lineup, leading Toros with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Adrian Pena and Jose Rodriguez each collected one hit for Toros. Clint Ford paced Toros with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Adrian Pena stole two bases. Toros turned one double play in the game.
