Zamora Helps Hooks Slug Their Way To Victory Against Bulldogs

Daniel Zamora hit two home runs and drove in four as Hooks defeated Bulldogs 22-1 on Sunday. Daniel Zamora homered in the fourth and third innings.

Hooks got on the board in the top of the first inning after Coleman Gamble singled, Luis Sotomayor doubled, and Rodney McDaniel doubled, each scoring two runs.

Hooks added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Nic Nelson homered to left field, Daniel Zamora homered to left field, Jonathan Bermudez singled, and Josh Hopkins singled, each scoring one run.

Hooks scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. John Otterson singled, scoring one run, Nic Nelson singled, scoring two runs, and Daniel Zamora homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Jonathan Bermudez earned the win for Hooks. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out seven and walking three. Braeden Perkins took the loss for Bulldogs. The starting pitcher went three and one-third innings, giving up 15 runs on 16 hits, striking out four and walking two. Daniel Zamora and Luis Sotomayor each came on in relief for Hooks and shutdown Bulldogs.

Hooks accumulated 23 hits in the game. Daniel Zamora, Nic Nelson, and Nick Zamora each collected three hits for Hooks. Nolan Rodin, Coleman Gamble, Jonathan Bermudez, Ethan Lopez, and Luis Sotomayor each collected multiple hits for Hooks. Hooks turned one double play in the game.

Next up for Hooks is a game against Wolves on Sunday.
