Hooks Come Up Short Against Phillies

Hooks could not keep pace with Phillies 6-3 on Sunday at McInnish Baseball Fields.

A single by Nic Nelson put Hooks on the board in the top of the first.

Dshawn W singled, which helped Phillies tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.

Phillies took the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the sixth thanks to singles by Dshawn W, and Ben N.

Garrett S earned the win for Phillies. They surrendered eight hits and three runs (two earned) over nine innings, striking out 15 and walking four. Dylan Kuester took the loss for Hooks. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up four runs on 10 hits, striking out six and walking two.

Steven Mock and Nick Zamora each collected two hits for Hooks. Nic Nelson and Luis Sotomayor each drove in one run for Hooks. Nick Zamora stole two bases.

Phillies piled up 12 hits in the game. Chase D and Colby A each collected three hits for Phillies. Chase D, Ben N, and Dshawn W each drove in two runs for Phillies. Phillies turned one double play in the game. Phillies didn't commit a single error in the field. Garrett S had the most chances in the field with one.

Hooks welcome Bulldogs on Sunday for their next game.
