Abercrombie Throws Shutout As Hooks Defeat Hound Dogs

Tim Abercrombie shut down Hound Dogs, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Hooks to a 4-0 victory on Sunday at The Parks at Texas Star.

Hooks got on the board in the top of the first inning after Daniel Zamora hit a sacrifice fly, and Luis Sotomayor lined out, each scoring one run.

Ryne Bainter took the loss for Hound Dogs. The starting pitcher went seven innings, giving up four runs on nine hits, striking out six and walking four.

Hooks accumulated nine hits in the game. Luis Sotomayor drove the middle of the lineup, leading Hooks with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day. John Otterson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Hooks in hits. Andrew Brocious collected two hits for Hooks in three at bats.

Ryne Bainter, Scottie Waterfield, and Elexander McCray each collected one hit for Hound Dogs. Hound Dogs turned two double plays in the game.

Hooks welcome Hound Dogs on Sunday for their next game.
