Daniel Zamora was bad news for opposing pitchers on Sunday, driving in five on two hits to lead Hooks past Devil Rays 11-1 on Sunday. Zamora drove in runs on a single in the first and a single in the second.
In the first inning, Hooks got their offense started when Zamora singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Hooks tallied four runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Jeremiah West and Jerrick Turner.
Tim Abercrombie got the start for Hooks. The southpaw surrendered one run on six hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven.
C Thompson was on the pitcher's mound for Devil Rays. The pitcher lasted one inning, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out one and walking one. B Koch threw six innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Hooks had 14 hits in the game. Keiji Parkhurst, Jordan Stickler, Zamora, and David Poe all managed multiple hits for Hooks. Parkhurst went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Hooks in hits. Hooks was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Parkhurst made the most plays with nine.
Thompson led Devil Rays with two hits in four at bats.
